The cornish chicks turned one month old yesterday. They grow up
so fast...too fast for their feathers.
That is a picture from a few days ago. You can already see the bulging breasts,
and they feel meaty and dense when you pick them up.
They arrived in the mail like this
We started out with forty of them, and thirty-seven have made it this far.

Orps chase a worm
All the Cornish Cross broilers are out on the grass now, so we could move the
Buff Orpingtons outside into the brooder. It looks pretty spacious with just the
five of them. They seemed pretty happy with the new accommodation, and we
entertained ourselves by giving them some worms.

Duck Pond
The main part of the duck pond is more or less dug out now.
It is about two meters square and one third of a meter deep.
It still remains to build up a border around the pond with some of the excavated mud
and do some landscaping.
